My trip to.....Guernsey!
Hello, blog!! I'm back from Guernsey now! It went a little like this:
.........
To be honest, it was a typical Coombs family holiday right from the start. Mum, Dad, Emma and I got up at 3am last week and Dad drove us to the ferry port. Moaning, shouting, swearing all the way, of course. And—right on queue—Emma's little voice wined "mum..."
(oh God, please no, she's 17 now)
"yes?"
"...I feel sick"
*Everyone moans*
The ferry crossing was just as bad. She looked green! Dad and I were fine but Mum and Emma felt terrible! Anyway, we managed to get there fine.
To be honest, there really wasn't a lot to do in Guernsey. I was really disappointed! We did what seemed like loads of German history museums, can't explain how bored I was for those. Apart from the German underground hospital! That place was spooky!! Such a good place for photographers. I think it would make a great film-set or nightclub:
We had some typical Coombs holiday beaches and weather:
And we were stupid enough to sit on the front row of some stupid show so I ended up being picked on to be a helper (A girl pulled us with her teeth!):
It wasn't a totally rubbish holiday, though! Oh, no! Here are the best bits:
We went to a sculpture museum where some rusty tent pegs were worth £2,175!
We saw some weird, tiny church that one man built on his own (not much room for weddings):
We had some nice, harbour-side meals:
And sometimes we had some nice weather! I even managed an hour of sunbathing!
So it wasn't a totally rubbish holiday! But seriously, I don't think I'll be going back to Guernsey. The people weren't that great (all drove horrible, expensive, gas-guzzlers), it was a tiny island and there was nothing to do on it, the beaches sucked and the weather wasn't very good. Ho-hum! It was a nice change of scene!
Until next time....
