Seems like heaven ain't far away...

A while ago I saw someone riding a bike. I remember that. Can you remember that? Riding a bike? That was the coolest part of childhood. Nat once went out with someone who never learned to ride a bike! Anyway, I decided to give it a try again. I dusted off the good ol' ten speed and headed off to Blaise castle estate!

It was so strange to be on a bike again. It felt great though; gliding down the path through the woods, wind blowing through my hair, it was like I was 12 years old again. Later on I took the ten speed a bit too off road and got kinda stuck in places (this was actually like my Everest). But still! It was so great being in the middle of the woods with only wildlife as far as I could see. The spring flowers peeking through the soil. And loads of squirrels! Everywhere!

It was definitely worth taking the off road route. I got to some amazing cliff edges. Breathtaking. After regretting forgetting my camera last time, I made sure I took it this time. But before you look at the pictures, just remember that I'm not a photographer and my photos make the place look so much more lifeless than it was:

Urgh, in fact, don't look at them at all. Some things are better left to the imagination. You should come to my house and I'll take you there! Can't beat the feeling of shuffling down a narrow ledge with a cliff edge on each side of you, standing at the tip and floating above the huge bowl of forest. A treat for the senses! It makes me feel like a tiny twig, dancing above the universe; but no! I mustn't fall off.

I wish I had a more better vocabulary or better photography skills. But just pretend.

This Easter holiday has been so much better than I ever expected. And there's so much more to come!:

Friday I'm getting the train to my Cardiff house to watch an acoustic Dashboard Confessional gig. Speed's going to drive me back to Bristol Saturday evening because on Sunday morning we're hopping on a coach to London to finally meet our eFriend (won't need the 'e' much longer), Sarah Maree! That'll be awesome! The weekend after that I'm probably going camping with friends of Speed.

Other good news! My dissertation supervisor has offered me a research job over the summer! So glad about that. Saves me a lot of trouble trying to find jobs. Plusss I can stay living at my Bristol or Cardiff home!

Other great news! This Friday celebrates my blog's 2nd birthday! (and also Ben & Carrie's 2nd year anniversary, I believe. Congrats, guys!). Her first birthday also celebrated her 100th blog. This year, her second birthday also celebrates her 150th blog (this one!). 50 less but it's quality not quantity, I tell thee!

'till next time...

  2. Hey man those pics are quite cool.

I love Blaise, there is a cliff there overlooking the whole place and it is the best place to sit, read, think or play some guitar/harmonica. It's lush playing to the world with your legs dangling 100ft above the ground!
