Hello! I was going to come on here all negative and talk about mine & Nat's 2 year theory, but the last few days have been really happy so I'm going to leave it. Ahhh, Nat. I miss her so.
This fortnight, at our union, they're doing this whole "Go Global" thing. Basically about all the international cultures / students. Anyway, there's been loads going on and on Tuesday Speed and I joined the art society to help make a massive mural that will be displayed all of next year. We all got a square each and could do what we wanted with it. Speed and I teamed up and made a really cool picture of two people looking at each other with streams of colour flowing between their lips. It looked really good 'cause he used collage and I used paint. I went up their today to grab you a picture but the door was locked...
Yesterday my parents came to visit me! Mainly because it is my birthday on Monday!!!!!!!! We went to Cardiff Castle, it was my first time there! Really impressive inside the castle, the rooms were amazing.
After the castle we headed down the road to the music shops because I wanted an acoustic guitar for my birthday. We found a really nice one. I felt like such a badass yesterday with five guitars in my bedroom (the two on the left are Speed's), the sand colour one is my new one!
And also, it's like my parents read my mind. Only the other day I was so close to buying a practice amp. I wanted to buy one when we got my new guitar and wondered why mum wouldn't let me! Turned out they got me one for my birthday! That was really unexpected, but it's great 'cause now we can still jam in my bedroom when we can't get a rehearsal room (no drums, obv).
In the evening Speed, Gecko and I went to the open mic night in the union (part of Go Global). As usual it was really good. They even had a really funny Tenacious D-esque act!
It's so funny, today I got talking to a kid off my course because we were in the same discussion group. Anyway, we were getting on pretty well. The funny thing is I know loads about him already because I've been reading his personal blog for the past 5 months without him knowing! He's been unknowingly telling me about his life and he doesn't even know my name. It'd be funny if he's thinking exactly the same thing as me... hmmm. Either way, it's going to be hilarious when I tell him.
Aw how nice of your parents! I love getting things I actually want for my birthday. :-)
