Senses Fail

Ohhh how amazing was Friday night. Honestly, I loved it. Phil came down from Bristol, we got a few drinks, then me up with Speed and his mates at Barfly. We saw the first band, The Sleeping, who weren't very good. Mainly because of the singer. He kept going on about chavs and attempting high kicks. Anyway, after them we were just stood by the bar in the venue. It was a tiny place, sooo small. Next thing we know the whole of Senses Fail were walking past me and Phil!! I shouted their names as they went past and they were waving haha. Me and Phil had seen this band twice before and we had met the singer at both shows in Bristol!

They came on and it was amazing. The singer actually put effort into singing this time (unlike before) and they sounded really polished. I can't explain how good it was really. Near the end me and Speed got to stand with the roadies, literally right next to the stage while they were playing. I'm glad they played in such a small venue, it felt so much more personal, they can hear what your shouting etc.

When they had finished they came off stage, I went straight up to the drummer and did the stupid "kick you square in the balls" thing he does on the DVD. I don't think he got it. But he was a great guy! Seemed really friendly, unlike the singer who you can sort of tell he puts it on a bit. But, I got to shake his hand and meet him for the third time! So I was happy.

I saw Garett, I told him to get his website back up. And Heath was wicked, we even invited him back to my mates flat! He laughed. Dan signed my arm.

It's so weird though. The only thing that differentiates these people from everyday strangers is that they play an instrument and make good music. Wow, so what! A doctor may be amazing at saving a mans life but strangers don't get excited to meet him! These guys aren't even famous. They're just celebrities in my mind. I was so glad to meet them again, it really made up for missing them at Taste of Chaos!

After the gig we went to Speed's mates house, Steven. They all seemed like really nice guys! You know what Phil's like when he gets drunk though, he called Speed's girlfriend a C**T! I love him though, so good to see him again. I know I keep saying "it was soo good, soo good omg it was amazing" but I can't describe it any other way.

Saturday night we went out for Jake's birthday! It was a good night! We went to some completely random bar though, called "Borough". It was long and thin and full of middle age, fake-tanned old (and soo ugly!) people! They didn't ask to get past you, they pushed. We really didn't feel welcome! But we had a good time at the other places, and we're all out again tonight for another celebration! Terry Dee came along too and stayed the night which was a bit unexpected before she phoned me on Friday! We've had 9 people sleeping in a 5 bed flat!

Drinkin' the right stuff:

Can I just say, I know this was really stupid but it made me laugh, I was at the gym the other day and I looked at some pretty girl over there and I almost fell off my treadmill! Hah! That'll teach me!

'till next time...

P.S. Totally forgot to tell you about Jake waking his mate Gray up with a glass of water. What's the matter? Doesn't he read my blog? If he read my blog he'd know never to sleep in the same flat as Jake with the door unlocked. I'm just trying to help you guys!

  1. looks like you had tonnes of fun, i like when you get all philosophical in your posts, 'these guys are just regular people who play instruments and make good music'. Kinda makes you think, maybe we should really wanna meet doctors and cheer for them. Anywhoo I hope your monday went as well as mine- im going to make some lunch!
