Joustin'

Ahoy, thar! That's right, ladies and gentlemen, last weekend I went to the ye ol' Castle of Cardiff to indulge in some medieval activities! ...Well, I only watched most of them (but I did spin a plate on a stick!) I mainly talked like a pirate because I couldn't remember how medieval people talk.

Speedz, Ria, Phil and his bro came along, too! It was proper fun. We had a tour of the castle, ate some hog roast and watched jousting!

These pictures have nothing to do with the day (expect the jousting): as usual I am waiting for someone (Phil) to upload the piccies so watch this space!

Anyway, it was fun, alright.

Isn't it strange how once you learn a new catchphrase or something you hear it loads afterwards. Like, at the ball Athony used the phrase "out on a limb" and I told him I had never heard of it. He then actually told me that I'll hear about it loads now, and sure enough, a few days later back in Bristol, I saw an advertisement that used the phrase. Also, a few weeks ago I discovered a stereotype that I didn't know before and THE NEXT DAY my friend brought it up in conversation. Weird! It's just like that telepathic learning thing they were on about in Waking Life:
They did this study where they isolated a group of people over time, you know, and monitored their abilities at crossword puzzles in relation to the general population, and they secretly gave them a day-old crossword, one that had already been answered by thousands of other people, and their scores went up dramatically. Like 20%. So it's like once the answers are out there, people can pick up on them. Like we're all telepathically sharing our experiences.

Wow, that was deep. Right, I better finish off right here before my mind explodes. Oh, p.s. today was my first day at my new job!! That's right, working at home... Kinda sucks but it's kinda cool. I prefer going out in the day and working in the evening so it suits me pretty well! Meh, back to work! Laattteee!

  1. That happened to me today! I saw someone reply "Fair to middlin'" as an answer to "How are you?" Never heard it before, but then someone said it on Coronation Street two hours later. Queer.
