Hello, I'm back from visiting Nat in Cambridge. It was a blast! And if you want to, you can hear all about it...
Firstly, the train journey was 3hrs, and how crazy is London underground!? This was like lunch time on a Wednesday and I couldn't get any further into the train than the door. It was stupid-busy. God knows what it's like at rush hour! Anyway, the train was fine, got to Nat's and she gave me a bit of a tour.
The city was amazing! Everything was so period and grand, it was like a different country. I've been there before but this time I really appreciated it. The weather was great so we just chilled out on a field eating strawberries! Then went to a bar to meet her superfriend. Kirstie. I was pretty worried about meeting her friends, I seriously thought they'd all be dicks. But I was so wrong! They were all great! Don't get me wrong, the majority of people I saw in Cambridge were dicks, but Nat managed to find the few nice people I think. The three of us went to eat at Nandos.
After that, in true Cambridge style, we met up with more friends and went to watch a Shakespeare play out on the grass. I didn't understand a word, but one of the actors was quite funny. I wish I could speak like that.
Nat and I were super tired after, so we just went to a pub for a bit, came home, watched the Rustle Crowe episode of South Park, then went to bed. Her room was a mansion. I almost got lost. A photo wouldn't help here. It had two beds on two different floors, must've been about four times the size of my room! But of course, darhhhling. (I was glad to witness a midnight fire alarm in an all girls halls or residence!)
Next day was cool too! We went to a garden party, drinking Pimms / champagne and eating strawberries to the sound of a brass band. It was fun, I had a great time getting to know Nat's friends. Some of the rahs there were hilarious, so I was entertained.
After that, Nat, Kirstie and I met up with Nat's juggling team and we went up the river on punt boats while they juggled!!!:
I punted for miles, pretty good for my first time! It was so hard and knackering! Especially having to turn around to get juggling stuff that Nat dropped.
Met a really special friend of Nat's:
Afterwards I was exhausted, we got a nice meal at a restaurant, watched some cartoons at Kirsty's, then went to bed.
Wow, what a great weekend. I deffo recommend it.
Remember, as a child, when you've been on a great holiday and met someone really cool, and you have to leave them? That is the worst feeling ever. It's not often I feel I really connect with someone too good.

Woah. Kicks the crap out of Cardiff.
ReplyDeleteIt may "kick the crap out of Cardiff", but for me I'd much rather be in Cardiff. I'd love to visit Cambridge, and I'm glad you had a great time, but I'd end up fighting with the "dicks" you mentioned. And I cannot stand pimms. Or "toffs"/upper class, right wing people. I wonder if I'd fit in... :P
ReplyDeleteWho is this person you mention right at the end, eh?
