New Flat!!

Hello! This is post 2 for the 5 weeks that I didn't blog. I'm going to take you back to July 23rd. What a day! I was very excited! I took the day off work because today was the day that I was going to move into my new flat!!! That's right!! My parents were going to come to help me move in the afternoon, so in the morning, Speed took me to Ikea to buy cool things!!

Let's see some pictures, already!!

Isn't it beautiful!! It's a gorgeous complex called Galleon Way in Cardiff Bay. It's so perfect! Paradise compared to the student digs that I was staying in! It's a ten minute walk from my work, which is brilliant for when I miss my alarm clock: the other day I accidentally set my alarm 1hr late at 8:55. I don't know how I did it, but I managed to get dressed and run all the way to work before 9am!! I was on time!!! You probably don't believe me, and I'm not sure I believe it, myself! I'll be defying the rules of physics soon!!

Queue next picture!!

Anyway. My parents picked me up with a car full of my stuff and we went straight to the flat to meet the landlord. We checked it out, signed loads of paperwork, and it was ours!! Mine and Speed's, that is. Speed is moving in in September.

Once everything was sorted, my parents drove me to Tesco to get some shoppen. We pretty much filled the car with loads of big things like plants, chairs, foods and a microwave (the big car was in the garage). THEN we had to pick up all of my stuff from my student digs!! My dad was sooo stressed out, the car was completely full—TWICE! I was crushed! Somehow we got it all back to the flat and I called Speed (using our VIDEO INTERCOM! Oh, yes!) to come help me out of the pile.

We got everything sorted real good. Then Speed's parents decided to come to see the flat! I've been super-friends with Speed for 3 years now, and this was going to be the first time our parents had met! All six of us went out for a meal in the evening (there's so many restaurants around here!). We had a lovely time! And Speed was kind enough to stay the night with me on my first night.

There's just one tiny annoyance with the flat: there are LOADS of spiders outside! I'm scared to open the windows! Apparently some loser released them here to eat all the flies from the docks... don't think he thought that one through...

Anyway, this flat is amazing! I'm sooo happy to be here! I'm really looking forward to getting stuck-in, you know? Coming home on those cold, dark winter evenings to my cosy flat :-) Good times!

Graduation

five weeks.... FIVE WEEKS since I last posted!! I know you won't even believe me if I tell you how sorry I am... But I can explain everything! Now, there's a lot to explain, so I'm not going to cram it all into one post; you deserve more than that. I'm going to give you the respect you deserve, blog! I hope you can find it in you to forgive me and share the tears and laughter with me. Here we go, this is my first post for the five weeks you've missed:

If I remember correctly, last time I posted was on the 5th July. I didn't tell you before, but on the Saturday I went on a boat trip with my family for my aunty's birthday! Great to see everyone! Anyway, I was still living in Talybont student digs back then. I was so desperate to find a flat in Cardiff Bay so I was booking lots of viewings etc. Turns out, on Wednesday (8th) I saw a beautiful flat in Galleon Way! I wanted it so badly, and on Friday I took Speed & his parents to see it. We all loved it and decided to take it. I couldn't wait to get out of Talybont and move in, but I had to wait!!

Monday was the day of my graduation! I was a bit nervous, my parents drove me up from Bristol and I picked up my robes and funny hat!

I'm afraid I look silly in all of the photos because I was nervous and the sun was always in my eyes.

Check this out, see the guy on the far left:

Kinda looks like he's gloating as he walks away from me? That's the guy that stole the top-of-the-year place from me by 1%!!!!! Sooo annoying!! I'm not bitter, btw!...

The ceremony was nice. The venue looked great and they even had a really good opera singer there!

I was one of the first people to go up. Dad managed to miss me with the video camera(!) but luckily it got professionally filmed (click here to see it. I'm at about 17:20). Here's some shots from the video:

It was fun! I didn't fall-over! So great to see all of my friends graduate! On Saturday, I had some friends & family over for an amazing graduation BBQ at my parent's house, the food was delicious and it was great to see everyone. On Sunday, some of us went for a walk through Blaise woods. We climbed the steepest, muddiest hill we could find, and it started to pour with rain when we were half-way up! Ooh, also we went to the Banksy museum!! Managed to skip the 2.5hr queue because Dan works there!! It was grrreat!

Right, I'll post the next installment of the 5 weeks you missed soon!! Goodbye for now!
